Accomplishments/Milestones/Happenings:
~ Emma is three weeks old today.
~ Emma was still in yellow today. She was very bright eyed when we arrived. I have pictures I'll post as soon as I can.
~ In other news, Emma switched from her smaller purple pacifier to the larger teal pacifier to begin working towards bottle feeding. She will receive her first bottle feeding next Monday when she would have been 34 weeks gestation.
~ And finally, for those who have asked the all important question, "When is she coming home?" The answer that the doctor volunteered is 3-4 weeks from today. She has to regulate her body temperature, take all of her feedings by bottle, and not have any A's and B's for a significant amount of time.
~ I must caution here that the 3-4 weeks is not a countdown. We will still live day by day. I say this because I witnessed the devestation of a family who had planned on their baby coming home a specific day to be told by the nurses that it would be an additional five days at least because the baby lost a little bit of weight and had an apnea the scheduled go home day. Please be patient with us and with the doctors. We desparately want Emma home, however, she is getting the absolute best care for what she needs at this time. Darren and I appreciate your support and continued prayers!
~ One other note: I have changed the settings of the blog so that anyone may post comments, prayers, etc. You no longer have to have a google membership. So I encourage everyone who would like to post comments.
